Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner is an independent Office with responsibilities under the federal Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The Privacy Act gives you rights in relation to how your personal information is handled by federal, ACT and Norfolk Island government agencies, credit providers and credit reporting agencies, anyone who holds and uses your tax file number, all large and some small businesses, and anyone who requests old minor conviction information about you. The OfAIC will take your complaint if you think you have been affected in respect of any of the above matters and have already complained to the agency or business directly.

Information and Privacy Commission NSW
This is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for NSW. It was set up in February 1999 to administer the NSW Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and protect the privacy of NSW citizens. It receives and investigates complaints about privacy breaches NSW public sector agencies.

The Office of the Commissioner for Privacy and Data Protection was established by the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) in September 2014.
