TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ACTIVITIES RELATED TO A REGISTERED COMPANY
Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC)
ASIC is Australia's
corporate regulator
. It administers the Corporations Law.
It also has powers in relation to
financial services.
You can complain to ASIC about -
a company running up debts it cannot pay
an investment scheme or company float that has no prospectus or legal offer document; or if the
prospectus is false or misleading
company directors not acting honestly or not managing the company properly
misleading or missing company information
takeover activities that seem to be illegal or favour particular shareholders
non-performance of auditors, liquidators or administrators
ASIC cannot take complaints about
internal company disputes
financial losses
commercial disputes
superannuation disputes
How to complain
You can ring for advice, but you should use the ASIC
Complaint Form
to lodge your complaint.
You can send your complaint to your regional office of ASIC
(see below)
by fax or by mail.
