- If you wish to complain about, or object to, planning or development in your local area, or query planning controls in your local area, you should contact your local council.
- If your complaint or objection is of a broader nature, you can contact your State or Territory Planning Department.

- The Department's Planning website contains very useful information about the Planning System in Victoria, including how you can object to a planning permit, how you can attend or make submissions to Planning Panel Hearings and much more.

- Under 'Incorporated Documents', the site also contains useful information about codes that may govern a particular planning matter, eg. the Code of Practice for Private Tennis Court Development Code of Practice for Telecommunications Facilities in Victoria Some of these codes are free and some have a nominal charge.
