The JAA offers a dispute resolution service to help find amicable solutions to problems that may arise from time to time. This service is free, independent and confidential.
In 1994, the JAA developed
the Jewellery & Timepieces Industry Code.
As a voluntary industry code,
it does not replace state or federal law, but it will call to
account JAA members and require
them to comply with its regulations. The Code Administration Committee
investigates specific complaints, and if appropriate, refers them to the state
or territory Consumer Affairs
/ Fair Trading agency or the
ACCC.
You can get a copy of the
Code from the JAA.
